ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition has been canceled. The reality show that helped rebuild homes for those less fortunate and in need will air its last weekly episode on January 13th, but the network reportedly will broadcast four special episodes after that date. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition was a spinoff of Extreme Makeover and premiered on December 3, 2003, on a Wednesday night. The show found its regular home on Sunday nights when it debuted on February 15, 2004. Sundays were synonymous with EM:HE, and it was a great way for our family to end the weekend, feeling all warm and fuzzy inside after host Ty Pennington and his crew rebuilt a home for a family who most desperately needed it. It was common in my house to hear the sniffles as we heard the back story of one deserving family after another. The show continued in its Sunday night time slot for eight seasons.
